DOTA 2 looks amazing. I can't wait to get the chance to play it myself. I'll be hopping back and forth between this and LoL.
Reviving this thread again, hope that's ok? I was wondering if you all also got the dota 2 invite for the survey. They will be inviting alot more people to the beta. So if you have signed up for the beta keep an eye out for the invite in your mailbox! /me excited!!!
Yeah update and close and open steam again and give it some time. A steam popup will come to collect hardware information and such. Good luck Kados
Edit: Just filled out my survey, never played DOTA before but luckily the 5 most played Dota 1 champs section was not a required section. Still, the survey is mainly geared towards previous Dota players so I kind of doubt I'll get an invite but it never hurts to try.
Assuming they invite a lot of people, there might be plenty of gift keys around. I may give some away...
luckely i played DoTA in the early days (around 2004-2005) i don't know what Valve is looking for as beta testers maybe they need a few DoTA "noobs" to, you never know.
I think it'll be wise of Valve to invite Dota newbies as well. I think they need to be sure it'll be accessible for new players if they want it to grow. If they just cater to the old Dota crowd, I don't think they'll succeed as much.
Well, after watching a good portion of that tourney earlier this year, I really hope I get into this beta, I've never even seen DOTA 1 being played lol
